Sometimes the best part of a Saturday is the first five minutes — bare feet on the floor, curtains pulled back, and the day not asking anything of you yet. This one is for that moment, and for everything it spills into: laundry folding, pancakes, a sketch that stays unfinished on purpose.
I built "Curtains Open" as pure morning light in sound. A clean, gently plucked electric guitar carries the melody — unhurried, with plenty of air between phrases — while warm Rhodes chords and a mellow round bass keep things soft and grounded underneath. The drums are a lazy brushed boom-bap, low in the mix, with a subtle vinyl haze and a faint room tone that makes the whole thing feel lived-in rather than looped. It opens on guitar and quiet alone, eases into the groove, lifts once — just once — and settles back down. No drops, no crescendos, no drama. Just a steady 80 BPM and a soft smile.
Press play, open the curtains, and let the day come to you. ☀️
